Privacy Policy
Last updated February 11, 2026.
Introduction
Glucose Please is a macOS menu bar app and companion marketing website that helps you view your Dexcom glucose readings on your Mac. This Privacy Policy explains how the app and the website located at https://glucose-please.app handle information when you use them.
This policy covers two products:
- The Glucose Please macOS app.
- The glucose-please.app website.
Information you provide
When you configure the Mac app, you may store:
- Dexcom credentials (username, password, and region).
- App preferences such as glucose measurement units, threshold alerts, and chosen history window.
These values are saved locally in your macOS Keychain and remain under your control.
To retrieve glucose readings, the app makes authenticated requests from your Mac directly to Dexcom Share web services using your stored credentials.
The app does not transmit your Dexcom credentials or glucose readings to our servers. Network requests go directly from your Mac to Dexcom and responses are processed locally.
Information collected automatically
During daily update checks, the app sends an operational heartbeat containing a random installation ID and app/OS version. This is used only to estimate active app installs and release adoption. It does not include Dexcom data. The heartbeat is sent as part of the update check and cannot be disabled.
The marketing website serves static content and uses a server-side process to fetch sample Dexcom readings using service credentials stored in environment variables. This mechanism powers the public demo feed and does not receive or store visitor-specific Dexcom data.
The site loads Vercel Analytics to collect de-identified metrics about visits (for example, aggregated page views and device information). Vercel processes this data under its own privacy terms.
The website does not include public-facing contact forms or user accounts. An administrative interface exists but is restricted to the site operator and does not accept or store sign-in attempts from other users.
How we use information
Provide the app's core features: Credentials and preferences stored in Keychain allow the app to authenticate with Dexcom Share and display glucose readings according to your settings.
Measure active app usage: Anonymous heartbeat events help us estimate daily active installs and app version adoption over time.
Understand product interest: Vercel Analytics provides aggregated metrics that help us understand how many people visit the site and which pages are most useful.
How we share information
Dexcom Share services: Your Mac connects directly to Dexcom Share to retrieve your glucose readings.
Service providers: Vercel hosts the website and provides analytics on our behalf. Vercel may log basic technical information (such as IP addresses) in accordance with its own policies when you access the site.
We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers.
Data storage and retention
On your device: Dexcom credentials and app settings are stored securely in the macOS Keychain and remain until you change or clear them within the app. Glucose readings retrieved by the app are kept in memory for display and are not written to persistent storage by the app.
On our servers: Standard server and analytics logs may be retained by our hosting provider as part of normal operations, and heartbeat event logs may be retained to measure app activity trends.
Security
We rely on the macOS Keychain's system-level protections to secure sensitive credentials and restrict access to the stored configuration to the Glucose Please app after the device's first unlock. Network requests to Dexcom Share use HTTPS to encrypt data in transit.
Your choices
Manage Dexcom credentials and preferences in the app's settings. You can clear your configuration at any time, which removes stored credentials from the Keychain.
Opt out of analytics by using a browser or network-level content blocker that prevents Vercel Analytics from loading.
Children's privacy
Glucose Please is intended for use by adults managing their own devices. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
International users
Servers for the marketing website are hosted by Vercel, which may operate in multiple regions. Dexcom Share services route data according to the region you configure in the app. By using the app or site you acknowledge that information may be processed in these locations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. If we make material updates we will post the revised policy on this page and update the ‘Last updated’ date.
